History of Bradbury Park

The Name BRADBURY PARK has come from Family Racing Interests.
Ian Bradbury, a Trainer many years ago, is the Grandfather of Michelle.

Bradbury Park was established in January 2010, leasing a small block of land with 16 Stables in Peria Road, Matamata and starting out with only a handful of horses.

In June 2010 Casey and Michelle Dando purchased a Dairy Run Off in Te Poi, Matamata being the heart of the Thoroughbred Industry. This property comprises of 45 acres that had an existing 4 Boxes. Majority of the Property is hedged, the contour is flat plus a little rolling. The existing barns have been renovated in to Stable Blocks, as at July 2011 there is a total of 20 Boxes.  The whole farm has needed to be developed with new fencing to replace the old dairy wire fences, fantastic, strong Colt yards have been built, dry mare yards with new lighting are only some of the facilities that have made Bradbury Park attractive.

Leasing further land set up appropriately for Thoroughbreds, Bradbury Park operated a total of 110acres but wait there’s more…..  Starting with 2 mares and 3 weanlings Bradbury Park in 2013 homed or managed 20 times the numbers they originally started with.

Development continued on the Main Farm where a Foaling Unit was installed in 2012,  further Colt Yards were built, an Office installed at the Hub of the Farm operations.

Update – Purchase of Neighbouring Farm May 2016

In May 2016, the opportunity arose for Casey & Michelle to purchase the neighbouring farm.  This farm consists of 35 acres, previously used as a Dairy Unit.  It all restarted again, removal of all fencing (not suitable for horses), designing a set up that had ease and safety involved.  Another Foaling Unit was designed, another maternity barn, foaling paddock, mares & foals yards/paddocks to replace the old one.

The goal to have a new homestead was achieved, keeping Michelle, Daisy & Jack very contented with a 4 bedroom home and swimming pool.

This new farm compliments the main farm, with huge paddocks, plenty of shedding, and instead of leasing those funds are going towards the farm.

Casey & Michelle welcome you to come and visit, to see their improvements, the bloodstock & have a few refreshments & Pizza in the “Pig Pen”.

In the early days it was advertise Bradbury Park may be new to the Industry by name but not by Experience, now its Nationally Recognised and Internationally Respected.

As Daisy and Jack are Primary School aged children, Casey & Michelle are wishing to install good values into their lives.  Therefore a new marketing campaign has started of “Believing in dreams” using the Bradbury Park Brand as the “B” in Believing
